Dr. Morad Atif was appointed Director General of the NRC Institute for Research in Construction (NRC-IRC) in March 2010. Dr. Atif joined NRC-IRC as a research officer in 1993, after spending two years as a faculty member at Texas A&M University's College of Architecture and Department of Construction Science, where he earned a PhD in Architecture and Construction Science. He also holds a Masters degree in Architectural Technology from the University of California.Dr. Atif is the author of more than 80 publications and the recipient of many awards, and has served on the CT board since 2010.
Tony Baumgartner is Vice President, Sector Development of Enterprise Saskatchewan, a role he has fulfilled since 2008.He has responsibility for leading the province’s investment attraction program and providing leadership to the government’s sector team consultation process. Tony is a long-time public servant with service in departments of Industry, Environment, and Natural Resources.He has a particular interest and background in forest economic development. He has been a member of the board for three years.
Glen B. Davies is the City Manager of the City of Regina. He is an accomplished municipal manager with over 27 years of experience in various municipalities across three provinces. Prior to joining the City of Regina, Glen was a Principal with the management consulting firm of TkMC for over 4 years..His interests are largely in the areas of governance design and relationships; policy; organizational assessment, design and effectiveness; strategic planning; change management and continuous improvement. Glen has been on our board for 5 years.
John Dipple,who joined the board in 2007, is a partner in Regina law firm MLT. He has a broadly-based corporate and commercial legal practice with emphasis on construction, industrial, and agri-business project development. John has had involvement with the development and construction of several large steel manufacturing facilities,among others. He has also advised clients in areas as diverse as power generation, ethanol production, grain terminals, and health care facilties.
Bob Ellard is currently Vice President, Facilities Management and Development at the University of Calgary. He is a 35 year veteran of the design and architecture industry in Saskatchewan, where he merged his company with Stantec and became their Vice President responsible for Manitoba and Saskatchewan. Bob is a very well known community leader in Regina,responsible for organizing such events as the 2003 Grey Cup Festival and 2005 Canada Summer Games, and has recently been appointed Chairman of the Alberta Winter Games. Bob has been on the board since 2007.
Frank Hart is currently President and Managing Director of Greystone Managed Investments,a Canadian investment fund manager with over $34 billion in assets under management. He has had a long and distinguished career as a senior corporative executive in both the private and public sectors, including acting as President of EDS Canada, and of Saskatchewan’s Crown Investment Fund. Frank has been on our board for two years.
Mark MacLeod is a pioneer leader of CT, having served as a board member and chair since 2003. He is a well known Saskatchewan executive leader, who is currently President and CEO of Superior Cabinets,after previously operating his own company, and serving as President and CEO of Information Services Corporation. Mark has a passion for leadership and change management, previously serving on the Prime Minister’s Advisory Committee on Cities and Communities, and on the board of the Saskatchewan Chamber of Commerce.
Cameron Rizos is Senior Partner and found of Canglobal Management Solutions of Saskatoon. A veteran management consultant, Cameron has spent over a decade specializing in the planning and management of sustainable development projects including activities in areas such as carbon finance, waste management, and local economic development. He has served as a board member of the Saskatchewan Environment Industry and Manager’s Association and Saskatchewan Trade and Export Parnership. Cameron has been on the CT board since 2007.
Dr. Vianne Timmons is President and Vice-Chancellor of the University of Regina. Vianne has plunged herself into the community since arriving in Regina, serving on the board of the Wascana Centre Authority and supporting the University of Regina Women’s Club,Canadian Club of Regina and Canadian Federation of University Women (Regina). She has previously been named one of Canada’s and Saskatchewan’s Most Influential Women, and was honoured with the YWCA Women of Distinction Award in 2010. Vianne joined our board in 2008.
Murray Totland joined the CT board in 2010. He is the City Manager of the City of Saskatoon, an organization he first joined in 1982, after attaining degrees in Engineering and Business Adminstration from the University of Saskatchewan. Murray is an extremely experienced city administrator, having managed the departments of Utility Services and Infrastructure Services, and acting as senior executive on major initiatives including the new Circle Drive South in Saskatoon. He was appointed City Manager in 2009, and is leading the corporate mission to provide the best service possible to the citizens of Saskatoon while ensuring that the community is safe, clean, and prosperous for all.
Jim Toye has been City Manager of the City of North Battleford since 2000, and a CT board member since 2010. Jim has spent his entire 25-year career as a municipal administrator in Saskatchewan, having held senior positions in Leader, Unity, and Kindersley prior to attaining his position in Saskatoon. In 2011 Jim was elected President of the Canadian Association of Municipal Administrators of Canada.
